What is a bondage restraint?

Put simply, a bondage restraint is any form of strap or rope that you can use to restrain your partner. These come in many shapes and sizes, and depending on the experience you’re looking for you might prefer a different kind of restraint.

Types of bondage restraint

There are a few different styles of bondage restraint to choose from. Each has their own benefits and drawbacks, and most experienced users will often mix and match, combining the parts of each kit they enjoy the most.

Simple and effective, the bondage rope is one of the easiest to use. Usually made of cotton, hemp or polyester, and available in a variety of colors, designs and lengths. While they look basic, they’re one of the most versatile options as you can tie them however you see fit. Some experience with knots and rope bondage is needed to make the most of them though.

If you’re looking for a restraint that’s easier to use, then cuffs may be more your speed. These go around the hands or ankles, and usually have loops you can use to attach them to each other, the bed, or anywhere else you could imagine. Some sets come with straps or ropes, while others come with bars or on their own. Usually they come with either two or four cuffs.

For the more adventurous out there, you can also try out some of the more elaborate restraints which cover even more areas of the body and help you try out other positions. Examples include spreader bars, collars, nipple clamps, ball gags, masks or hoods, and more.

The majority of restraints are made from leather, with various wooden or metal parts used where a more firm hold is needed. All our restraints are high-quality, with firm stitching so they’ll stand up to plenty of punishment.

Getting Started with Bondage

Bondage restraints are a great way to get started with bondage. For the complete beginners, cuffs are the ideal way to see if you like the feeling of being restricted without too much difficulty or pressure.

Once you’re a bit more comfortable with the practise, you can move onto more elaborate restraints and explore restricting your movement more thoroughly. For complete control, a bondage rope will offer the most flexibility. Staying Safe

As always, make sure that your play stays safe. Never restrain someone without their consent, and always make sure you establish a safe word in advance. This should be something that you won’t commonly say, so as soon as anyone is uncomfortable they can say it and be released from any restriction.
