We’ve all got cute little nicknames for the important things in our lives. From our cars, computers, significant others, even phones. One thing you might not have thought about nicknaming though is your vibrator.
Now, you might be thinking that it’s a little bit weird to name your sex toy. It’s really not as uncommon as you might think though. They don’t always have to be human names, but even just little affectionate terms are common. After all you spend a lot of intimate time with a vibrator, and let it in places you might not even let many people. What’s wrong with a fun little name for something that brings you so much pleasure?
For some, it isn’t even a question of their bond with their vibrator. Having a normal name for it can make it much easier to talk about in situations where it might normally be inappropriate. In front of the kids while you and the other mums are talking for example. Some adventurous souls even take their vibrators out in public, and let their partners control the remotes. In this situation, saying “turn off Jim” sounds a lot less embarrassing than “turn off the vibrator”.
Here are a few of our favourite names from some time on the internet:
- O.B. (Battery Operated Boyfriend) or B.U.B. (Back-up Boyfriend): If your real man isn’t quite doing the job for you, you’ve got a backup in the closet.
- Buzz: If you’re feeling a little down, let Buzz fly you up above the clouds (A play on Buzz Aldrin).
- Dependable: You can always rely on this guy to get you off.
- Gonzo: Fans of the sesame street will know that Gonzo is great with a big bird.
- The Intimidator: Probably a name for your largest vibrator, although a bullet named this could be quite ironic.
- Ricardo: If you’ve ever fantasised about heading off to a foreign land and making love under the sun, then a name inspired by your favourite country could at least take you some of the way there.
- Peter and Roger: Perfect names for rabbit vibrators.
- WAHL-E: The lovable robot that you always want to spend time with, a perfect name for an older vibrator.
- Sandy: One of the girls here at Lovegasm has a vibrator named Sandy. She won’t tell us why, but it’s become a bit of an office joke that something went a little wrong at the beach.
Whether or not you choose to name your vibrator is entirely up to you. If you find it a bit strange then that’s perfectly understandable. If you find the right name though, you and your partner or friends can have conversations about your vibrators without anyone around you being any the wiser!
