How to Use a Clitoral Vibrator

Posted by Inaayah Jarvis on

One of the many kinds of vibrators available to women is the clitoral vibrator. This device is specially designed to be used specifically on the clitoris. The clitoris is the most sensitive part of the female vagina, and stimulating it directly can lead to some incredibly strong orgasms.

What is a Clitoral Vibrator?

A clitoral vibrator in general isn’t a great deal different from any other typical vibrator. Likewise, any kind of vibrator can be used for clitoral stimulation. Vibrators that are specifically designed for this purpose though, are much more effective at hitting this relatively small part of the female body.

Sometimes known as pocket rockets, clitoral vibrators will generally be very small, making it easy for them to access the pea sized clitoris. The simplest of these will only have one or two speeds, while the more complex variants may have special programs, simulating waves, pulsation, or even stopping and starting throughout the process. They are generally designed to be very smooth, and made from softer materials, as the clitoris is extremely sensitive.

Certain styles of vibrators may also incorporate clitoral vibrators into their designs, having a small extra arm which aims directly at this part of the body while the rest of the vibrator penetrates the vagina or stimulates other areas. Vibrators solely designed for clitoral stimulation though are usually too small to effectively be used as penetrative devices.

In general, clitoral stimulators will work at one of two main settings. Strong, high frequency vibrations are very good at quickly stimulating the clitoris and reaching a fast orgasm. Due to the intensity of these sensations though, they can somewhat desensitise the clitoris after a short period of time. Gentler, low frequency vibration builds up the sexual pleasure much more gradually, usually leading to a more intense final explosion of pleasure. Due to the gentler nature, these kinds of vibrators or settings are usually able to be used for a much longer period of time, and can often lead to multiple orgasms in a single session.

The small size also makes these vibrators very discreet. Many manufacturers use this to their advantage, disguising the vibrators as small objects that a woman may carry around often, such as lipstick. This means that you can carry your vibrator with you wherever you go, and won’t arouse suspicion should someone happen to catch a glance of the inside of your handbag.

Using a Clitoral Vibrator

Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the clitoris, using one of these vibrators may take a little bit of an adjustment period. When first beginning, it is usually recommended to start on the lowest possible setting your vibrator offers. If this still proves to be a little bit too much for you, then stimulating the surrounding area before moving onto the clitoris will usually warm you up enough for the sensations to be a little less uncomfortable. You could also try using it over the top of your underwear, which slightly muffles the vibration and makes it a little less intense.

When you are finally making direct contact with the clitoris, it’s entirely up to you how to proceed. Spend the first couple of minutes experimenting with the vibrator. You can move it to different areas of the clitoris, as some women find that one side may be more sensitive than the other. You can also try out the different speed settings on your vibrator to see what feels most comfortable.

If you’re planning on spending quite a long time stimulating the clitoris, then it might be a good idea to use a bit of lubricant. While the vagina does produce its own lubrication, over a longer period of time this may dry up a little, and the intense vibration may begin to irritate the skin. Adding some extra lubrication completely prevents this from happening, and makes sure everything stays nice and slippery until you’re finished.

Sex with a Clitoral Vibrator

Clitoral vibrators are one of the most ideal types for you to incorporate into your existing sex life. Due to the small size, it shouldn’t prove too difficult for you to hold it to your clitoris in nearly any sexual position. Unlike other, larger vibrators, you won’t need to learn any new or fancy sex positions to get started with this vibrator.

Direct clitoral stimulation does tend to bring women to orgasm quite quickly though. If you are planning on using one of these during sex, then it may be useful to tease with it a little more, moving it around the body and the edges of the vagina. Once you get close to orgasming, then use the direct contact to send you over the edge. The more you use this during sex the more accustomed to it you should become, so you’ll be able to make direct contact for longer before orgasming.

Clitoral vibrators are one of the simpler ones out there, but that doesn’t make them any less desirable. Due to the intense amount of nerve endings packed into this tiny part of the body, many women will natural tend to use their vibrators on it anyway. If you’re going to be hitting the clitoris anyway, you may as well pick up a vibrator designed to feel that extra bit special.
